Final Round of Pre-Application Consultation Events Announced for Proposed Achies BESS

Sun4Net is inviting members of the public to attend the final round of pre-application community consultation events for the proposed Achies Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), to be located near the existing Spittal Converter Station in Caithness.

These informal drop-in sessions are an important part of the pre-application consultation process and provide a chance for local residents and stakeholders to find out more about the project, ask questions, and see how their earlier feedback has helped shape the proposals.

The events will take place as follows:

Tuesday 1st April – Thurso Library, 2.30pm to 7.30pm

Wednesday 2nd April – Ross Institute, Halkirk, 2.30pm to 7.30pm

At each session, the project team will provide updates on the proposed plans and present a summary of the feedback received during the first round of consultation in March. Sun4Net will respond to key questions raised and explain how the input received from the community has influenced the design and scope of the project.

The events will also outline changes to the technical assessments and the package of documents that will be submitted as part of the Section 36 consent application to the Scottish Government.

Director of Sun4Net, Peter Keep, said:

“We’re grateful to everyone who took the time to attend the earlier consultation events and share their views. This final round is an opportunity to show how local feedback has been taken on board and to continue the conversation as we prepare to submit our application. We encourage anyone with an interest in the project to come along.”
